The rule of thirds and hotspots.
The rule of thirds is a rule in photography where it gets maximum composition. It helps make a photo pleasing and appealing to look at.
To obey the rule of thirds you have to split your photo into thirds. The points at where these lines intersect are called hotspots. These are shown as green dots on the image above. To get maximum composition you have to move what you want the viewers to focus on onto one of these hotspots. For example if it is a picture of a person, you would move their eyes onto one of the hotspots and their mouth below it. If it is a photo of a landscape, then you would put the horizon on one of the thirds. Below is a photo that obeys the rule of thirds.
