YSP Video Installation
This film installation is inspired by Bill Viola as he creates video installations which is a modern form of art that mixes the combination of both video technology with installation art. We went to YSP to see the Bill Viola exhibition called Tristan's Ascension which was presented in a chapel in pitch black on a large screen with a projector onto it. This was created by combining images I took at YSP to make one long montage/collage of them all. I then added sound to make it have a discordant feel. I used drums to give the photos an out of place feel and also used scary sounds at the beginning to make the video more powerful. I used ambient sounds which had an effect on the audience by keeping them interested about what will happen next. The aim of this video is to create an effect on the audience or to make the audience feel a feeling of mystery or suspense. The audio is non-diegetic and is un-harmonious. This will be distorted and will make the audience feel as if they are in an unfamiliar environment and this will be a new experience for them but it wont last as it will be transient.
